First of all, peopl...I used to live in Boston. :)

First of all, people sometimes argue about Mike's Pastry vs. Modern Pastry for pastries in the North End. Go to both!

Nebo in the North End is relatively new, but is supposed to be fantastic.

Most of my favorite spots were everyday places. I'll leave you to get recommendations for fancy dinner out from the guide books.

Brunch at Stephanie's on Newbury used to be the place to be seen when I was a Bostonian.

B. Good is a healthy fast food place. It was started by two college friends who did a ton of research to get going. When I left Boston, they had one location. I think they have four or five now. :)

JP Licks was my favorite ice cream spot. There's one right on Newbury, at the bottom.

The Black Rose is a fun spot for a beer on some nights when they have live Irish music. If you grew up with Irish folk songs, you'll love it. Even Irish tourists go there. :)

FYI, the cross streets in the Back Bay are in alpha order. Arlington, Berkeley, etc. I don't think people always realize that and they sometimes find the Back Back a little confusing as a result.

While most people focus on Newbury Street for shopping (nicer stores like Chanel are at the top, by the way), Charles Street is full of great boutiques and antique shops.

Walking the Freedom Trail is a great way to see the city in an afternoon. It'll take you by all the popular tourist spots. Alternatively, you can take a Duck Tour, which will drive you around the city and then splash into the Charles at the end.

Hope that helps! Have a great time!!!Jeannine | The Small and Chic Homehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17702901309930825003noreply@blogger.com
