Mission Trip Monday
We had the awesome opportunity to take the children to “Camp.” This is one of the only times they actually leave the grounds of the orphanage. This was their second year of going to camp so they knew a little about what to expect. Last year was their first introduction to a trampoline and they were in love at first bounce! It’s the first place they go in the morning and the last place before bed. And it was no different this year, it is by far their favorite part of camp.

Spring has finally sprung! We had a birthday gathering in the park this weekend. It was so nice to feel some sunshine! Our good friend, Chris, has a birthday this week and there’s not a better way to celebrate than with friends and family!
Have a great birthday Chris!
Hope this year is awesome for you!!

Shrimp Pasta & Vino
For Christmas David and Cortney (Joe’s brother & his girlfriend) gave us six bottles of wine. Good wine! There were whites, reds, and even some bubbly! We tried out our first bottle the other night.
And to pair with it Joe whipped up a yummy shrimp pasta. Rich flavors of garlic, marinara sauce, fettuccini pasta, topped with creamy feta which made a perfect compliment to the Pinot Noir.
Thanks guys for the wine! Looking forward to the next bottle!

100th post
Well we’ve made it to a 100 posts! And to celebrate this little milestone, we’re having our first giveaway! I thought we could spread a little Honduran love with some very yummy coffee. And I’m a big fan of drinking my coffee out of an insulated cup, so a new cup to go with your cafe!
So here’s how to get you some goodies…
1. Post a comment – how do you like your coffee? Black? A little coffee with your cream and sugar??
2. Get another chance to win if you post on your blog about the giveaway
3. And another chance to win if you subscribe to eat, drink & decorate
Drawing is open until Saturday April 24th midnight. Drawing will be at random.
Ok go!

Mission Trip Monday
Here’s the first installment of our photo journey through our trip.
This is the group from Charlotte that went together. We joined 12 others from around the Carolinas. I am so thankful to have been with such a caring, generous, Christ-loving group of people!

Honduras Trip
We are back from our mission trip in Honduras. We had a wonderful trip! It was so good to see the children on New Life Children’s Home again. This was my second year going and Joe’s first. He fell in love with those children and cannot wait to go back! He’s already talking about when the next trip will be!
This is Joe and his special friend, Jonathan.
They were pals from the start!! So sweet!
Instead of bombarding you with lots of lots of pictures in one post (we took over 1,000 pictures!), I thought I would spread them out a little. So we'll be doing Mission Trip Mondays for a few weeks - hope you enjoy!!
If you ever have the opportunity to go on a mission trip, I would highly recommend it!! There’s something about being in that experience that Holy Spirit just really opens your heart. It’s an emotional experience!

Happy Easter
We are working on getting the finishing touches done for our mission trip to Honduras. I love the way the timing has worked out for the trip to be at Easter. This time of year always brings me closer to my Lord. It’s a time of renewal. A time of reflection. A time to try, as best as our human minds can, comprehend the amazing gift the Lord gave us with his son. We have been studying 24 Hours the Changed the World, by Adam Hamilton during the season of Lent. It’s an amazing book – I highly recommend it! I have really enjoyed the insight of Jesus’ last 24 hours before his crucifixion.
I pray that you have had a blessed Lenten season, and that your Easter will be a time to reflect on the love of our Lord, that gave his one and ONLY son so that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life. Thank you Lord! I love you!
Please pray for us during our Mission Trip. Pray for our team, pray for the children, and pray that we will be a reflection of Jesus to these children.
Thank you and God bless!!!
